Viktória Katona graduated from the Secondary School Debrecen Reformed College, and earned Master of Theology and Divinity degree in the Reformed Theological University in Debrecen. After her ordination, she served for thirteen years in the Reformed Church in Transcarpathia, a Hungarian community of over 100 congregations in the most Western region of Ukraine, working as a local minister in congregations of Nagydobrony (Velika Dobrony) and Csap (Chop), and as a co-worker of the Good Samaritan Reformed Children's Home in Nagydobrony.
