Easter Message 2018

2018. március 26., hétfő

The Permanent Council of Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference and the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Hungary share a message for Easter.

“... The Lord has risen!...” Luke 24:34

Celebrating Easter is witnessing year to year that God stands on the side of life. He entrusted the Church with the Good News that Jesus, who was crucified, has risen on the third day. In that way, the One who was born in Bethlehem, crucified at the Calvary and risen on the third day is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. As a testimony based on the scripture, we can say that through Jesus’ death on the cross we are forgiven, and by his resurrection he has overcome the power of sin and death.

During this season of Easter, we see His people are surrounded by sin, violence and death. We know, we believe and we testify with all the Christians of the world that our Lord is the living Jesus Christ, who has saved and claimed us as His own. In this way, peace and joy move into the hearts of God’s people because Jesus lives!

The people of the Church can trust that the living Jesus Christ will not leave them. As the gospel is heard. Through this, day by day, Christianity as the people of God, and also a Christian as a child of God, can feel and experience the importance of life because life belongs to Jesus, and those who belong to Jesus also have life.

As a blessing of God, we wish all Christians to own the experience of this knowledge, faith and confession in their lives. We believe in the importance of this because it gives peace and radiates joy: Jesus Christ lives, and through Him the Church lives.
