Statement of the General Convent on the European Migration Crisis  

The Presidium of the General Convent of the Hungarian Reformed Church (HRC) held its meeting on the 10th-11th November in Balatonfüred. Bishops and Lay Presidents of the Hungarian-speaking Reformed Churches issued a statement on the European migration crisis urging global solution for the root causes and unconditional solidarity with all the people affected including persecuted Christians in the Middle East. Read the full statement

Moving Past the Hostility 

"Calm words and clear framework are needed." We continued the conversation with Dóra kanizsai-nagy and Balázs Acsai as they shared their thoughts on the events of last few months: the general public's fear regarding migration, the importance of integration, and the work of the Refugee ministry od the Reformed Church in Hungary.

 

Week of Creation: Cyclists of Hope

Bycycling for your neighbour, goes the motto of a group of Hungarian cyclists from the Carpathian Basin, who set out on bike during the Week of Creation, travelling from east to west. The cycling relay, taking place between Beregszász (Berehove, Ukraine) and Sopron, Hungary, is part of the Ecumenical Pilgrimage in Europe, whose final destiantion is the UN Climate Change Conference.

 

RCH Synod Elected New General Secretary

On 18 and 19 November, members of RCH Synod met for the second ordianry session since the New Synod was constituted in April 2015. The new General Secretary was elected. Mission co-workers represented the RCH partner churches.
